Give your supervisors the tools to lead well—without burning out or burning through staff.
Monthly membership designed for frontline and mid-level leaders in human services—and beyond. The Leadership Lab helps your supervisors lead with confidence, reduce turnover, and create teams that stay.
Supervisors have the greatest day-to-day influence on retention, morale, and performance — Yet most have never been trained to lead people.
They are promoted for their dedication, their tenure, or their ability to “get stuff done”. But managing people requires a different skillset.
When supervisors struggle, the costs pile up:
IDD agencies pay an average of $6,000+ every time an employee leaves (UMN research).
Staff feel unsupported and burned out.
Outcomes worsen for individuals being served when teams are unstable.
And it’s not just human services. In every industry, leadership gaps lead to costly turnover, low morale, and missed opportunities.
Without strong supervisors, the cycle of stress, vacancies, and burnout continues.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
“The content is presented so simply that any supervisor, in any field, could pick it up and make it a best practice.”
— Jessie Dunn, past Supervisor Course participant
Why Ongoing Support Beats One-and-Done Training
Real transformation doesn’t happen in a day — it happens through consistent practice, feedback, and support.
Most leadership trainings are like a shot of espresso — energizing in the moment, but short-lived. Supervisors return to the chaos of daily operations, and within weeks, old habits creep back in.
The Leadership Lab works differently. It’s not a one-time course; it’s a monthly rhythm of growth, reflection, and accountability.
Here’s why that matters:
Skills stick when people practice them. Each month’s theme focuses on one leadership habit to apply immediately.
Confidence grows when people have backup. Supervisors get coaching, not just content.
Culture shifts when leaders have consistency. The steady rhythm creates lasting change—less drama, less turnover, and stronger teams.
“It’s not just another training—it’s an ongoing system that helps supervisors live out what they learn.”
Meet Nate Beers
Like you, I’ve seen the toll turnover takes on clients, staff, and organizations.
Early in my career, I was fortunate to have several incredible mentors who shaped the way I saw leadership. But soon after, I also worked under a series of terrible bosses—and the contrast was staggering.
The impact of leadership (good or bad) wasn’t just personal—it rippled into team morale, staff retention, and even business outcomes. That experience sparked a passion in me that’s lasted more than 15 years: helping supervisors grow leadership skills, one habit at a time.
As a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), I began applying behavioral science to solve staffing and leadership challenges in human services. The results were too encouraging to keep to myself. That’s why I created the Leadership Lab: to give supervisors the kind of support I wish every leader could have.
Without leadership training and support, supervisors feel…
❌ Overwhelmed and reactive
❌ Stuck in constant turnover cycles
❌ Alone in their leadership struggles
With The Leadership Lab, supervisors become…
🌟 Confident leaders who know what to do and how to do it
🌟 Skilled at building strong, stable teams
🌟 Energized by leadership instead of drained by it
“Before the training, I wasn’t always clear with my expectations. After, I’ve learned that clarity is kindness. Now I can set clear expectations for my team, and it’s made a huge difference.”
— Brian Kennedy, past Supervisor Course participant

The monthly call is 60 minutes with interactive training and Q&A, followed by a 30-minute live-only bonus Q&A.
What if I can’t make it live?
Recordings of the main session are available in the membership library.
What if my supervisors aren’t tech-savvy?
We use a simple, one-click Zoom link. If they can join a Zoom meeting, they can join Leadership Lab.
What if we already send staff to other leadership training?
Leadership Lab complements other programs by providing ongoing reinforcement and real-world coaching—the things most trainings don’t include.
Will supervisors actually use it?
Yes. Because each month’s focus is simple and immediately relevant, supervisors don’t just learn—they apply. They get tools and coaching that help them succeed in real situations, not just theory.
What if we don’t have time for another training?
Leadership Lab isn’t an “extra thing.” It’s built into the workday—practical, applied learning that helps supervisors handle their current challenges more effectively, not add new ones.
You don’t have to keep losing good people. With the right support, your supervisors can lead with confidence, build strong teams, and reduce turnover for good.
